Casual Leave-CL (Casual Leave): When you have to take a sudden leave for any reason, it is called Casual Leave (Casual Leave). As if there is an urgent need at home, the car is missing.

Medical leave: Medical leave can be taken when an employee falls ill, gets injured or has some other kind of physical problem.

Earned Leave (EL) / Privilege leave (PL): You do not need any special reason for this leave. This leave you get in return for work. Hence it is called Earned leave (EL).

Privilege leave-PL, means 'Discounted leave'. PLs are similar to ELs in terms of working for certain days, but their numbers are different.

You can take these vacations for any pre-made plan. Like going out with the kids on vacation or taking part in a home event. Such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, etc.

Maternity leave: Maternity leave is given to female employees when they are pregnant, approaching delivery and for some time after the birth of the child.

Paternity leave: Male employees also get paternity leave for the care of wife and child when the wife is pregnant.

sabbatical leave (study leave): In order to enhance one's skill, one can take leave without paying for any course, training or study. This is called sabbatical leave.

Rules for casual leave. Rule for Casual leave (CL)

Companies offer 10-15 casual vacations throughout the year

A maximum of 3 Casual Leaves can be taken in a month.

It will be treated as Earned / Privileged Leave if you take leave for more than 3 days. If you want to take more than 3 days leave at a time, it is necessary to apply in advance.

Casual Leave cannot be extended next year. As soon as the calendar year (1 January to 31 December) is completed, all the unused Casual Leaves laps automatically.

Payment cannot be taken for unused or outstanding Casual Leave.

They cannot be combined with Earned / Privileged Leave or Sick Leave.

For new job joiners, the number of Casual leaves will be fixed on Pro rata basis (in proportion to the number of days of duty that year). That is according to the duration of the remaining job in that year.

The same rule of Pro rata basis will apply in case of leaving the job.

If a person has joined on October 1, then that year he will work only for a quarter of a year. In this case, his leave will also get a quarter of the total number.

Medical leave rules. Rules for sick / medical leave

Sick Leave / Medical leave can be taken in case of being able to go to work due to illness.

Usually 10-15 days medical leave can be taken throughout the year.

Sick Leave of half day (0.5) can be taken in return for work up to 7 days.

If you are absent for more than 2 or 3 consecutive days due to illness, you have to submit medical certificate along with the application for such leave. Day limit may vary according to different company.

Sick Leave can be attached with Earned Leave.

If you do not take Sick leave, you can neither adjust it in the next year nor get paid for it. At the end of a calendar year (January to December), all your Sick Leaves lapse automatically.

For those who join or leave a new job, the same rule of Pro rata basis (leave in proportion to total working days) will apply to Casual leaves.

Rules regarding EL or PL holidays. Rules for Earned leave or Privilege leave

Is there a difference between EL and PL?

EL Earned Leaved and PL Privilege Leave are both earned holidays. Both meet on the same basis. Instead of working a few days. But they differ on two grounds

EL is given to an employee of a company under the Factories Act. The rule is to take 1 EL for every 20 days. That means you can take a total of 18 ELs throughout the year. However, the rules are different according to the states and the industry. Some companies even give leave of more than thirty days.

PL is available to employees working in a shop or institution under Shops & Establishment. The rule is to take 5 PL for work every 4 months. That is, a total of 15 PLs can be taken throughout the year.

For those starting or leaving the job in the middle of the year, the same rule of Pro rata basis (leave in proportion to total working days) will be applicable for CL.

At the start of each Calendar Year, a total of 15 ELs (Earned Leave) of the year are credited to his account. But, meet, on the basis of completing his work day. For example, after 1 month of work, the right to take 1.25 EL becomes yours. In the case of PL, similar calculations can be done (according to the rules).
